Driftskippers Fall highway clean-up/burger bash

The September 20th monthly meeting will be our first meeting for the season.  We will also be doing our fall highway clean-up/burger bash that day.  If you wish to help out, meet the club house at 4pm on the 20th.  Burgers and brats will be served at 5:30 along with a pot-luck with the regular club meeting at 7.

Driftskippers Summer Update

Not much has been happening around the club house this summer with the exception of Kenny keeping the grass cut.  But that will be changing next month.  Our monthly meetings will begin again on Tuesday, September 20th at 7pm. We will also have our fall highway clean-up/burger bash that evening too.  If you would like help out on the road clean-up, show up at the club house at 4pm.  We will have burgers and brats ready about 5;30.  Feel free to bring a dish to share if you would like.
The club has put in for a grant from the Trails Task Force.  The grant money would help offset a portion of the purchase price of our new side-by-side and the tracks that will be purchased with it.
With the creation of the Pokegama lake ice trail, the traffic utilizing Sherry’s Arm to get to our west shelter has greatly increased.  This has put increased pressure on our trail where it exits Pokegama lake.  The club put in for a trail improvement grant and we received word today the improvements have been approved and the grant money is on the way.  Thanks to everyone who helped get this vital project approved.
The Wendigo Reroute still remains a work in progress.  There are a number of government agencies that need to sign off on this and so, it takes time.  We are still hoping to get this completed this fall in preparation for the winter season.
Don’t forget our trail clean-up party will be in mid-October.  With all the storms we’ve had this summer, we may need a lot of help.  The date for the trail clean-up party will be set at the September meeting.
We plan to resume OG rides as soon as the trails are ready this winter.  If you haven’t been on one, we usually ride to lunch and then stop for a bump on the way back.  The ride is open to everyone.
